Clamason Help Blue-Chip Manufacturer Restore Production Cycle
The Challenge
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a major blue-chip manufacturer of electrical assemblies found themselves in difficulty. Their usual stamping solution was no longer fit for purpose, with technical and supply issues blighting the production cycle.
The Solution
With an urgent need for a reliable supplier of precision pressings, they approached Clamason for help. They needed a quick and efficient solution, which could restore their production cycle rapidly – as well as achieving a high-quality output, meeting the demands of their end-users.
The Clamason team needed to transfer the customer’s existing tooling, so it could run seamlessly on far more advanced machines. As the incumbent solution had involved battling with old machinery that lacked the technical innovation required, it was also decided that five press machines would be relocated to the Clamason site, allowing for more practical and effective production.
The Journey
Understanding the importance of restoring the customer’s production volume, Clamason were able to quickly implement production trials and measurement reports to ensure a rapid return to manufacture.
Transferring the five press machines to Clamason was a complex project. Requiring a highly structured and thorough approach, Clamason’s project management team worked closely with the customer to ensure all considerations were reviewed and agreed before the machines were relocated.
During the process, Clamason lead a full risk assessment and machine condition reports. This allowed us to advise of the best medium and long-term solutions for the machines, ensuring that the customer’s required production volumes and overall goals were met.
